Vestibular Rehab
Vestibular Rehabilitation is for those patients who have a balance, disequilibrium, dizziness, or vertigo disorder caused by dysfunction in the vestibular system. It is an exercise-based treatment for dizziness and balance problems. Your session with the therapist will include a careful assessment and treatment. Appropriate techniques may be used to reduce current symptoms (such as the Epley maneuver also known as the Canolith Repositioning Procedure) and/or an exercise program will be designed for each patient. Those patients who have been shown to respond well to this treatment are:
- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
- Positional Vertigo
- Unilateral vestibular loss such as in neuritis or acoustic neuroma
- Meniere's syndrome
- Post-traumatic Vertigo
